Shant M Hambarsoumian

Our Founder’s Story

Shant Hambarsoumian, Founder of Whadata Med, didn’t set out just to build a software company—he embarked on a deeply personal mission inspired by his family’s journey. Several years ago, Shant’s father was diagnosed with heart complications, setting their family on a long, arduous path through a maze of doctors, tests, and countless medical appointments.

Each new visit felt like starting over. Information was passed from one doctor to the next, but the gaps, confusion, and misinterpretation were relentless. Medical notes often failed to capture the full picture, leaving Shant and his family in the dark, struggling to piece together fragmented insights while precious moments with his father slipped away.

What frustrated Shant the most wasn’t just the complexity of the system—it was the lack of access to critical information. The family faced endless administrative hurdles while trying to make informed decisions about his father’s care. Amid his father’s deteriorating health, these barriers compounded the emotional toll on everyone involved.

After more than a year of battling the system, Shant’s father passed away. That profound loss left Shant questioning the very healthcare framework that is supposed to protect and care for our loved ones. Determined to ensure no other family would endure the same unnecessary obstacles and heartache, he channeled his grief and frustration into creating Whadata Med—a platform designed to put patients and their families at the center of care.

For Shant, Whadata Med is more than a company; it’s a tribute to his father and a testament to his commitment to making healthcare more compassionate and human-centered. His journey underscores the importance of communication and information sharing in patient care. Behind every diagnosis, there are families who deserve not just medical treatment, but dignity, respect, and clarity.
